When you embark on your therapy business start-up it is usually because you want to make the world a better place. Maybe even wanting a life style change or possibly a life-changing event set you off in a new direction.
Whatever way you look at it, your soul called you to take up an adventure and off you go!
Now it’s time to be professional, look at what everyone else is doing, mirror the successful people exactly so that you can be, do and have the same…
Although a great starting point, in doing that, something doesn’t quite fit for you. All these one-size-fit-all approaches are not really fitting you. Somewhere along the way you lose your purpose.
Something is missing.
You need to express yourself, your way. Your soul cries out, yet in the essence of ‘good business practice’ you ignore it… here are five jolly good reasons to listen to your soul and allow it to shine through.
- Knowing your purpose in life is the foundation of your business
Knowing beyond any doubt that you have a life-purpose and that purpose is aligned to your business will give you the grounding, motivation, and inspiration to keep going. Especially during the tough times (and there are one or two along the way!).
If you are working in an office pushing paper all day, yet you yearn to be a yoga teacher, you will land up resenting your office-job. Feeling frustrated and off-course you will never fully commit to your job.
You remain unhappy until you begin to move. You feel the freedom and know ‘I am yoga’… Suddenly you are a different person, alive and active, doing your ‘thing’ in the most magical way.
People feel that and are drawn to you naturally. That’s the best foundation you could give yourself.
- Living your (business) purpose brings your USP to life
You are a unique and wonderful being. The moment you begin to live your purpose, you bring that uniqueness into your business. It is something only you can do, be and give. No-one else is quite like you and although there may be three other yoga classes on the High Street, none of them do it quite your way!
- Working from you core-self attracts your divine audience
Being a living, breathing, walking, talking expression of your business helps attract your divine audience. When you work from your core-self, the only person you truly know, you will magnetically draw in your divine audience. Because you are living your purpose, your perfect-for-you clients will love your take on the new yoga class. In no time at all they will be your raving fans. All because you are being you!
- Understanding you are on a perpetual learning curve hones your skills
We all start out thinking once the certificate is in our hands we know it all. Not true! That is only the start of the journey. The soul yearns to learn more. Being open to learning helps you be a few steps ahead of your clients. If you have walked the same path as them, are that much further along, who better to guide them?
Stay open and even your divine audience will teach you a thing or two – how much more exciting does it get!
- Soulful business means you never work a day in your life
Although number 5 on the list, this for me, is probably the biggest and best takeaway reason for a business having soul. When you are living and working from your core, attracting your divine audience, learning and growing and simply being you… every act (even year-end taxes!) is a reason to be grateful. Being soulful means you are not only living your purpose, you are loving it. When you love what you live and live what you love. That’s not work. That, my friend, is pure bliss!
These are my favourite five reasons for a soulful business, there are so many more! For now, how will you be applying these five to your own business today?
Building better business with soul. I’d love to hear your results!
