Seven steps to planning success easily

Looking for sustained growth? This is my number one coaching hack: planning.

When it comes to growing a successful business, life or career, please remember you can’t do everything on your own. A life or business coach will cover you there. The planning is always up to you though.

Accountability is key.

Coaching helps keep you on track, inspired and motivated, but really it’s all down to your planning mind set. If you are ready to make your vision a reality, ready to step into your definition of success, then here are seven steps to set your business success on fire.

The key to your mind set shifting is getting business plan help. Planning tips in previous blogs included how to do a business plan. Yes, it’s all been laid out for you.

Now, I want to shift the focus onto making your plan a success. These seven steps help get you in the top 1% of business success:

  1. Connect with your why

Simon Sinek says it best when he talks about his Golden Circle. He asks what your purpose is, your why. Believe in doing things differently because people buy WHY you do, not what you do.

If you don’t know your why, why bother?

  1. Research

Get into the nitty gritty detail of what you want. Find out who else is doing the same things. Learn from them, allow them to inspire you. Then put your own stamp on things.

You don’t know what you don’t know, start doing the research and you’ll know a lot more.

  1. Ask for help

At the start there was a reminder, I can’t say it enough: You are not an island! As an action-taker, we tend to think only we know how to do it right.

No. Stop that thinking now.

Reach out for help. Get an awesome team around you and you will sky-rocket. Choosing to go it alone is choosing to fail.

  1. Be grateful for what you already have

Oh boy do you have so much already that you have forgotten about. Chances are, if you take the time to run through all the skills and experience you have gained over the years, you’ll notice you already have all you need to get going.

You think you don’t? Look at that list of skills, now honestly tell me you can’t find any transferable skills… There are more than you thought!

  1. Write, re-write and write again

Get all your ideas and plans on paper. Use the template outlined in my previous blog post.

Look at your vision.

Get the answers from your why and your research written down. Now make a document that flows all that information together.

Write your plan. Ask trusted people for feedback. Re-write with all the new information and inspirations that show up. Keep getting those goals smarter and achievable, keep getting the plan to pin-point precision that brings you joy.

  1. Give it some space

Now, do as the heading says, take a break. You’ve worked hard. Everything is written down. Give the plan a little space to settle in your being. Take some deep breathes. Relax.

Let all your thoughts and ideas settle. By now, you will have everything you need on the written plan. Without taking a breather, you’ll do yourself some damage in the next step…

  1. Take action

This is where the magic begins. As the plan is clear, precise and ready to roll, you can now take daily actions to achieving the goals and points planned. Keep track of what works and what doesn’t. Tweak, amend and review your plan and actions.

Pretty soon, you’ll be able to see that everything you’ve planned is now reality. It’s done. You are a success. Now it’s time for you to decide to either maintain or expand your current growth…
